If the vendor is an approved medicare provider, so you don't get ripped off, the vendor will have all of the paperwork that they'll fill out for you and contact medicare to get an approval. Try and remember you may be responsible for shipping, set up, etc. If it were me I'd contact a local supplier and see what kind of a deal he can do for you. That why you actually deal with a person who is local and you can go back to. Most dealers try and take care of co-pays or at least take half of the co-pay off because they do a large medicare business.

I glean, from the information I have found, that it will be necessary for you to pay for the chair and lift mechanism up front. Medicare will reimburse you for the lift mechanism only. As a courtesy some suppliers offer to bill Medicare for you. The following site is one such manufacturer: http://www.everydaymedical.com/index.asp?PageActio n=Custom&ID=27
