If individual is 64 and wants to begin getting social security checks, does he/she qualify for HSA

Individual is 64 and applying for society security benefits but says that they can't get medicare until age 65. Does receiving social security benefits automatically enroll you in some type of medicare progrm before age 65.

Enrolling in Medicare is a separate activity than starting your Social Security payments.

Failing to enroll or delaying enrollment because you're still covered by insurance at work may cause you to have a higher monthly Medicare cost when you do enroll.
