Medicare supplement is a type of medical insurance policy which provides medical insurance especially for old people. This insurance policy also provides health care for the young people with disability.
Type A, B and C supplement insurance provides different coverage patient for the patient. For example Type A covers inpatient Hospital care , nursing care etc.
Type B covers outpatient hospital cares, doctors consulting fees, physical therapy fees , x-ray etc. For the Type B coverage the patient has to pay a small amount of monthly premium.

As you realize, there are several different "parts" to Medicare.
Medicare, part A, refers to insurance coverage for inpatient hospital care, hospice, skilled nursing and home health. This portion of Medicare is usually premium-free, unless someone did not pay into the system enough to receive coverage.
Medicare, part B, is insurance coverage for doctor visits, outpatient care, durable medical equipment, and preventive services (health screenings). Participants do pay monthly premiums for this coverage.
Medicare, part C, is the same as Medicare-Part B, however, instead of Medicare (CMS) handling your care, a Medicare Advantage (MA) plan handles the care--for profit. What is so appealing about this for many seniors is that out-of-pocket expenses are significantly lowered. Rather than a coinsurance, members usually pay small co-payments. Some MA plans will charge a monthly premium in addition to the regular premium owed to Medicare. There is much more to MA plans than just the above, but too much to list here--these are the basics.
Medicare, part D, is prescription drug coverage. This is something that occurred under George W. Bush. Prescription drugs were not covered under Medicare. Since many seniors, of course, are ill and rely on medications for chronic conditions that often affect the elderly, many people were unable to obtain medications because of the cost. Medicare will charge a monthly premium for this coverage, and some MA plans might or might not.
Medicare supplement (or Medigap) is individual insurance coverage purchased by the Medicare recipient to pick up out-of-pocket expenses. This could include: payment for all or part of the Medicare deductible; all or part of the 20% coinsurance; additional coverage for benefits; etc.
The cost of the premium for a Medicare supplement policy is based upon, of course, what the individual would want covered. Although there are mandatory minimum benefits for Medigap policies, an individual could choose to purchase a policy, at a higher premium, to cover more services and/or costs.
